The Healer
Ultimately, the Healer is an alchemical agent inside the Mystery of Being. And this Healer lives within each one of us. We find guidance from others who see with Clear Sight, who feel with Pure Heart, who move from Pure Instinct. Until the moment that we awaken to our own Inner Guidance, our own Inner Healer. And then we give, we offer, we pour our Love into all the dimmed places in the universe.

About “The Healer”
The original 7’ x 5’ oil painting was created alongside visionaries Keith Kurlander and Will Van Derveer for their Integrative Psychiatry Institute in Colorado. It hangs in the meditation hall of their ketamine therapy clinic.
Nestled in the sky are three constellations, depicting the molecular structure of psilocybin, ketamine and MDMA. Each of these holds great promise in assisting with therapeutic approaches addressing addiction, trauma and more.
These “technologies” live in a neuronal sky that interweaves the earth (Nature, Culture) above and the healer (Self) below. To me, this is a picture of Wholeness, of Reality as it is.
The lower portion of the painting highlights a few of the technologies used in the clinic. Headphones (music is played at times during treatment); a mortar and pestle (for grinding the medicine); glasses are a nod to modern technology’s gift of vision - both microscopic and telescopic - allowing us to see what was before invisible; and the mushrooms, hinting of a possible future where psilocybin is legalized for helping with depression, anxiety, and addiction.
In the original painting, the halo behind the healer is inlaid with 23k gold leaf.
