About this Work
One of only two artworks that I’ve created in this past year - a year in which I set down my art tools to work more directly with people, guiding them into their own interiors.
Tattooed across his chest are the opening lines to Homer’s “Odyssey”. Translated to English:
“Tell me about a complicated man, muse, tell me how he wandered and was lost when he had wrecked the holy town of Troy, and why he went and who he met, the pain he suffered on the sea and how he worked to save his life and bring his men back home.”
(Translation: Emily Wilson)
In a way, this drawing is about my journey upon the sea, seeking to save my own life.
And, I believe, it’s about all of us. Every man, every woman. Returning to ourselves, our souls, our Origin.
