Eruption

About this Work

This is “Eruption”. A painting that’s so much about releasing, setting free, *being* free.

First, the wild horses. They’re not only unrideable and untameable, they’re straight up uncatchable!

Second, the color. I felt so awesomely free, splattering and pouring and splashing bold colors raw across the surface.

Third, what’s hidden under layers and layers of paint: every tiger, whale, manta ray, raven, demon, warrior, maiden, child. I didn’t cork them. I didn’t hold any of them back. I let them all fly free.

“Eruption” is the release of so much bottled expression, timidness, hiding. It’s my celebration of my own human spirit. Of every spirit!
