MEN’S RETREAT

JANUARY 21-26, 2027

This is your opportunity to slow down.

In your breath.

In your body.

Supported by the sea, the jungle, and a crew of men determined to live with greater potency and purpose.

View from our private residence overlooking Chacala.

Our Terrain

Stepping into this retreat, you will be encouraged and downright massively supported to:

Liberate yourself from small stories and enliven a wellspring of freedom.

Awaken to your distinct gifts, power, and place in the world.

Return to your relational heart through vulnerable and courageous presence with other men.

Ground in your body. Here. Now. Simple. Again. And again.

What You’ll Set Aside

Your phone.

Your task-list.

Your performance.

Retreat Structure & Flow

You’ll be part of a small crew of up to eight men.

Our time together integrates:

Powerful group circles. We get honest, reveal the things we spend so much time and energy hiding from ourselves and others, receive feedback and guidance, interrupt our normal patterns, and set the stage for new ways of being, while opening to the necessity of engaging the heart. All in real-time.

Body practices that ground us in sensation and the present moment.

Time on the beach to swim, play, breathe, and rest.

Expeditions into the jungle and sea, to remember our wildness.

Ceremony to soften the edges of our defenses, open greater access to our heart, and honor the truth of our life, our path, our soul.

Evolution on our path sometimes requires stepping out of our daily lives.

An immersion into a new ecosystem, a changed-up atmosphere, a fresh holding.

Sacred pools deep in the jungle.

Embodiment practices on our private beach.

Your Guides

Bryce Widom & Reuvain Bacal.

Reuvain and I have known each other for eighteen years — a friendship that grew slow and steady through men’s groups, nature walks, late night music-making, birthdays, medicine journeys, shared tears and laughter.

We co-lead men’s retreats in the Rocky Mountains and Mexico.

Chacala, Mexico

Chacala is a quiet, laid-back fishing and beach village on the Pacific coast of Nayarit, Mexico. It’s a simple 1.5 hour drive north of Puerto Vallarta International Airport.

Lodging

We’ll be staying in a beautiful private residence overlooking Chacala. Our private beach, the town proper, and jungle are all a short walk away.

Nourishment

We’re blessed to have Dahlia, a local, returning as our private cook. Her authentic Mexican cuisine is down-home delicious, and provides wonderful sustenance for the work we’re doing.

January 21-26 & Integration Day

Our retreat officially closes Monday morning, January 25. This is set in place for men needing to return home due to obligation and responsibility.

From this point forward and into the next morning — Tuesday January 26 — we step into Integration.

This time is a bridge between full-on retreat energy and your return home. Same lodgings and nourishment, but a more relaxed structure — and an opportunity to be with awareness and sensation in a more daily-life, downtempo context (including time in town).

Given that so many of us stumble once returning to our work, relationships, and everything else — we are baking this intermediary step into the container itself.

Consider it an evolutionary practice ground — with the full support of Reuvain and me to assist you with any arising challenges, and champion who you are growing into.
