“Vitalis”, Latin: “of or belonging to Life”.

A snow-packed silence
on a high rolling ridge
- dashed! Plowed through
by a cacophony of wingbeats
and strong-muscled paws
and splattering whiteness.
Dark ravens caw,
eyes thrumming with the inner-glow
that springs from knowing
one’s purpose.

What am I here for
but to participate fully?
To reach beyond comfort,
to extend myself
as a microscopic spore
extends
and blooms forth
as a great Mystery
into soma, into Being, into Life.

There shall be no holding back.
No squashing of will.
No cowering from disapproval.
The time of being small
has passed.
We all arrive with a knowing,
we all forget,
we all are graced with the perfect circumstances
for our remembering.

Let us remember now
as light gleams through this jewel
flowering from the heart,
piercing through the dull
and brightening the way
on our ride
deeper
into Life.
