Amber and Koen graciously posed for me, serving as models for some possible upcoming paintings. The theme? Yoga! Koen occasionally practices with me in the mornings, so getting into Warrior Pose was as easy as sliding into his bumblebee boots.

These photos, incidentally, were taken in my new art studio, in the warehouse district of North Boulder. Here, Koen digs into his favorite - Downward Dog (perhaps more fittingly termed “Piked Puppy”).

To the mountains! (Specifically, the aspens.) That was my birthday wish. So Amber, Koen, John, and I headed for the highground. And while we didn’t find the gorgeous groves I was hoping for, we did stumble upon this sweet spot alongside a rushing mountain creek.

Amber, Koen, Kim, and I traveled east of Boulder to a lovely organic pumpkin patch, where we plucked our pumpkin of choice straight from the vine, scurried around in a haybale maze, and got joyfully lost in a corn maze.
