Lake Isabelle & Isabelle Glacier

Amber, John, Kim, Koen and I hiked high into the Rockies one fine sunny day. Here, Koen is pausing for a moment in the woods (constituting the first leg of our journey). I think it was at this point that Koen was contemplating joining the wolves. Thankfully, he decided to stick it out with us for a bit longer.

Koen hiked a huge portion of our many-miles trek.

Standing on the shores of Lake Isabelle. In the sun-hazed distance resides Isabelle Glacier.

Nothing better than a beach stationed at 10,868 feet above sea level!

Fly the Koen-Friendly Skies

We boarded our flight for California, and next thing we knew, Koen was being escorted into the cockpit - the pilot gave up her seat, handed over her hat, and Koen was in charge!

I fumbled with the camera in an anxious attempt to capture the moment in pictures, and when I looked back up, Koen had turned every knob, pushed every button, and flipped every switch he could get his fingers on. “Don’t worry”, the copilot assured me, “we’ll double check everything before take-off”.

Autumn is Nearing

The mornings are turning a bit crispier, but that doesn’t stop us from eating breakfast outside.
