Nicola: Thanks! Unfortunately, even these small sketches and haiku are proving to be a challenge to find time for. But, I shall!
Alana: I used to classify haiku as anything that fit the 5-7-5 syllabic structure. But I *love* the strict rules embedded in the traditional haiku structure (not that I follow them every time!). For example, always including an object/word that acts as a seasonal reference. What I love most, is the discipline of using external objects/settings/events to *evoke* an internal experience of unbounded richness (if well written).
i sure do love reading haiku. wonder how haiku sounds written in southern?
