Necessity, who is the mother of invention.

I dig consistency. The fact that each of the 1000 Views of God was to measure precisely 12″ x 8″, and that each would carry the same monetary value. And these self-imposed limitations were to reap certain benefits: extremely affordable art for the public, bite-size paintings for me to easily create on a daily basis, an economic model that – cross your fingers - really works.
Now that I’ve been working on this for some months, I’m realizing that – if this project is to be sustainable – I need to make some adjustments to my course.
I’m going bigger with 1000 Views of God. Growing beyond the 12″ x 8″ dimensions. First up? 24″ x 18″.
I’m excited about this. Because this project isn’t only testing my limits as an artist, or as a spiritual practitioner. It’s challenging me as a husband. A father. A business man. (Did I really just refer to myself as a ‘business man’? Yes. I did. I’m seeing that it’s crucial that I step more fully into all my roles – not just the ones I’m most comfortable with.)
Same destination (1000 paintings), different course. Here we go!
(big thanks to Reuvain Bacal, for helping me navigate my way out of ‘death-by-refusal-to-adapt’)

I’m intrigued. Can’t wait to see more.
